Do you worry that your child or teen is sad on a regular basis or suffering from fear and anxiety that is getting in the way of their life? Do you worry about your child or teens peer or family relationships or their connections with others? Are you struggling to understand your child or teen’s needs and how you can support them?

I offer individual therapy for children and adolescents. I also offer family therapy, and I am committed whenever possible to ensuring open communication with parents so they can understand and support the counselling process. I start with getting to know your child and family needs and allowing you the chance to be sure that my counselling style will work with your family. I help you by learning how to understand the issues for your child or in your family and I provide you and your child with specific evidenced based coping strategies to address the needs you have identified. I offer compassionate, experienced and integrated services so you can get the help that you need.

My previous clients and colleagues would say that I have a unique way to engage by clients through my humour and personality. I am able to address issues directly with empathy and compassion. I have been providing CBT services for over 20 years and have fine tuned the ability to weave this into my discussions with clients. I have skills in being creative and using media and interactive activities online to support the assessment and treatment process. I am humble and open to feedback. Clients know that I am willing to take and hear and feedback they have about my style or interventions I have provided. I have strong commitment in helping clients understand possible reasons for their mental health needs, relationship issues or behaviours and ways they can apply coping skills to work towards change. I have been referred to work with clients who do not need basic CBT education but rather they need to understand why it is not working for them

Helping children and adolescents live their best life and helping parents understand and support their children is my passion. It might mean learning to set boundaries, working through communication issues or a life transition – it could be changing a pattern of behaviour that is keeping you or your family stuck. Our goal is to help you feel better so you can live better. Contact me today for a free consultation and we’ll get started on your journey together!
